Deadline is reporting that TBS has green-lit Final Space, an interstellar animated comedy from Nashville-based indie filmmaker / actor / Youtuber / The Soda Parlor owner Olan Rogers, Conan O’Brien’s Conaco, and New Form in association with Turner’s Studio T, for premiere in 2018.

Olan seems pretty excited about it:

Final Space

Final Space is about Gary, an astronaut, and his pal Mooncake, who destroys planets. Just watch the fantastic 7-minute pilot:

The short has been very popular on Youtube. Olan pitched the concept to Comedy Central, TBS, FOX, FX, Youtube and Fullscreen who ALL wanted to sign on. Thom Hinkle (SVP of original programming for TBS) described the pitch saying, “Olan pitched us Final Space voicing all the characters and dancing around the conference room. It was kind of like a comedic MOON – genuinely funny and oddly heartfelt. We bought it in the room. So did other networks. We’re glad he chose us. XO.”

Olan Rogers sells apparel on his Olan Rogers Supply website and just re-opened his shop, The Soda Parlor, on 966 Woodland Street in East Nashville.

UPDATE: Nashville’s Nate Bargatze returns to Conan Wed, Aug. 10

Nate Bargatze
Nate Bargatze, Vandy fan

Nate Bargatze is on a roll. His Comedy Central Presents special debuted in February.. and his performances at Bonnaroo this summer were very well received.

Old Hickory, TN’s favorite comedian will make his first appearance on Conan O’Brien’s TBS show Tuesday, August 9th Wednesday, August 10th. Nate was scheduled to appear on July 21st, but unfortunately, the show ran long and Nate got bumped.

Mr. Bargatze previously appeared on NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien twice.

Perhaps Vanderbilt’s biggest fan, Nate is always wearing some sort of Vanderbilt-branded attire. Watch Conan on TBS Wednesday, August 10th and just know that if you don’t see Vandy gear at first glance, he’s wearing Vanderbilt shorts underneath. Absolutely true.

8/9 UPDATE FROM NATE: “Watch conan Aug 10 tomorrow night. I am taping it today but will air Aug 10. I’m sorry and if u want to like another comic I understand.

Here’s a funny clip from Nate’s Comedy Central Presents special:

Nate Bargatze makes third Conan appearance July 21, 2011

Old Hickory’s own Nate Bargatze will appear on Conan tonight, Thursday July 21, 2011 on TBS. He previously appeared on Late Night with Conan O’Brien on Feb. 5, 2009 and September 30, 2008.

Nate says, “Would love for you to check it out if you get the chance. If not, Thursday then maybe another day and if not then, then maybe I’ll come to your house and make you watch it. I’m not trying to come off pushy.”

Be sure to watch the show! We’ll post the video as soon as Team Coco makes it available.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, Super Dave Osborne walked-on to an already packed line-up (and was hilarious) but.. as a result the show ran long and Nate got bumped! When a new date is announced, we’ll let you know. At least Conan name-checked him and announced his upcoming live dates. To watch the whole (Nate-free, mind you) show, visit
