marymack-eitheryouwakeuporyoudont.png
Congratulations to Johnetta Scales of Nashville, TN for winning a personalized, autographed copy of Mary Mack’s new cd “Either You Wake Up Or You Don’t”, available now at Mary’s new website & CDbaby.com.
Johnetta was randomly selected from random entries to our random contest in a completely random fashion. Johnetta wrote to thank us saying, “how random!” No, no.. here’s what she wrote:

I’m so excited! It seems a long time ago that my friend (Nancy) and I saw Mary Mack in Nashville. No matter how much time passes, we always giggle at the comedy of Mary Mack. She is hilarious and I can’t wait to hear the CD. I’m feeling giddy and want to now pester you about how soon can I get it? On any given day, you can let me hear Mary Mack, Jesse Perry, K Anderson, Rob Haynes, Tim Northen and Beth Donahue and I’ll laugh myself into a state of joyful unconsciousness! Thanks so much for my blessing of the day 🙂

Thanks to Johnetta and everybody else who entered.

Wix Wichmann in FameCast Competition

In a search for the nation’s best new talent, FameCast has launched an online competition – an artist discovery and entertainment community platform. Artists can connect with a national audience and compete to become the next FameCast Fenom, a prize worth $10,000 and national exposure. Season One is in full swing and Nashville’s own Wix Wichmann is in the final 10 comics.
Wix says..

Ok everyone I’m getting desperate now. For those of you who don’t know, I’m in an online comedy competition that started with over 100 comics and they have whittled it down to the Top 10. I’m currently sitting in the 9th position and voting ends on Saturday! If I get into the Top 5 I fly to Austin to compete for $10,000. Which would work great for me now that I have to buy my own Jim Beam. If you haven’t voted yet, please do, it only requires you to sign in and is painless.
Here’s the link. After you click it, you’ll have to scroll through the ten comics until you get to my picture. Click on it and vote where the checkmark is below my picture.

Comedy Classes for Teens and Adults Taught By Rik Roberts

A lot of people say you can’t teach funny.. but you can teach writing and you can give wanna-be comics some experience to help them hit the stage running. Comedian Rik Roberts is teaching a series of classes at Bongo Java for adults and an intro to comedy series this summer at the Nashville Public Library downtown for teens only.
Rik says, “I’m starting to get some real good folks who are in it for the long haul. The camaraderie these students have really helps them find some comedy buddies for support until they get over the hump.”
To sign up for classes, contact Rik Roberts at 1.888.895.8549 or email him at rik [at] rikroberts.com. Read on for details about each series of classes..
