RORY SCOVEL LIVE AT THIRD MAN RECORDS

A few months back we hosted one of our favorite comedians in the Third Man Blue Room, hand selected by Jack White to appear. Rory Scovel came, saw and destroyed any and all bad vibes within a 5 mile radius with an improv set of some of the best live stand up we’ve seen in years. Seriously, the man far exceeded even our lofty expectations for hilarity. Since then Rory has had a bumper few months, appearing on Conan O’ Brian in a tuxedo performing uber-classy comedy with live LIberace-style piano accompaniment, co-starring on new TBS comedy Ground Floor and generally ruling the school and jettisoning jocularity into the universe in every town and festival he visits on tour.

Well if you missed his now legendary Third Man live show, fear not and save your tears, it is now available for pre-order on LP and will be available in finer record retailers everywhere December 17th (just in time for the Stand Up fan in your life for Christmas).

Oh, and one last thing for our UNUSUAL FORMAT collectors and fans… The sleeves and labels feature the track list all in braille. That’s right. Braille. Trust us, it’ll all make sense when you hear the album. It’s another meta-comedy first from Third Man Records and Rory Scovel!

Cinema Sins: Nashville’s Jeremy Scott and Christopher Atkinson rip on movies

http://www.wired.com/underwire/2013/01/prometheus-video/

The Ridley Scott sci-fi epic Prometheus inspired a lot of mixed reviews last year from both critics and fans of the Aliens franchise, and snarkmeisters Jeremy Scott and Christopher Atkinson have returned to point out everything wrong with the movie in a concise four-minute video, embedded as an exclusive first look above,

The two nitpicking film nerds from Nashville have pulled in nearly 2 million YouTube views with their series of hilarious hit jobs tear apart movies like The Amazing Spider-Man, The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises. The new entry in their Cinema Sins series, “Everything Wrong With Prometheus in 4 Minutes or Less,” blows apart plot holes in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi epic.

The duo may take joy in ridiculing weak links in works by heavyweight filmmakers like Joss Whedon, Chris Nolan and Ridley Scott but that doesn’t mean they hate the movies they mock.

Ralphie May and Lahna Turner to launch “The Perfect 10” Podcast

“She’s a nine, I’m a one.” says Ralpie May. “When we stand next to each other, she looks like a one and I look like a big 0. Together we’re the perfect 10.”

Ralphie May and his wife, comedian Lahna Turner have announced that they will launch “The Perfect 10” Podcast on August 1st on iTunes and Stitcher. “It’ll be different from everybody else’s. We’ll mix sketch comedy with music recorded live from the Mercy Lounge in Nashville. We’ll have segments like ‘Cooking with Porn Stars’, ‘The Redneck Report’ where we call up a bonafide redneck buddy and a black friend for ‘The N****r News.’ Lahna never smokes weed, so we’re gonna get her high as balls and recreate my greatest stoner moments. I’m going to be her weed sherpa.”
