When college doesn’t appeal to you, you can’t find a good job, and you have a hard time passing drug tests, you’re really only left with one career option, stand-up comedy. Geoff Tate discovered this life path only a few short years ago but is already making it work for him. He toured the country as part of the Comedy Central Live Presents’ Mike Birbiglia’s Secret Public Journal Live, he appeared at The Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival, he’s been on The Bob and Tom Show several times and appeared on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham.

Geoff “has a knack for mining his own personal history for big laughs” (The Capital Times, Madison, WI) and his style has been compared to the late Mitch Hedberg (The Columbus Dispatch, Columbus, OH).

Stewart Huff @ SPiFFY SQUiRREL Comedy Show (The East Room) 9/14/2014

Stewart Huff was born in Campbellsville, Kentucky and grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee. He has been performing comedy for over 15 years, beginning when he decided to drop out of college to become a writer. Currently touring theatres, comedy clubs and special events across the country, Huff reaches past the norm for his genuine — and genuinely unexpected — comedy. His knack for embracing the foibles of humanity and his refreshing originality make him as likeable as he is hilarious. A storyteller at heart, Huff continues to amaze with his clever material and personal wit.

Huff has performed in comedy clubs nationally and internationally, including the Improv in Los Angeles and New York, the Punchline in Atlanta and the Funny Bone in Omaha, as well as countless others.
A finalist in the 2006 Boston Comedy Festival, Huff was also invited to perform in the HBO Las Vegas Festival, where his act can be viewed on pay-per-view.

He currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his girlfriend. There he drops off the various items he collects while on the road, including an antique barber chair, countless vintage photographs, and an extensive collection of LP’s. She likes this.

Matt Ward @ SPiFFY SQUiRREL Comedy Show (The East Room) 9/7/2014

Matt Ward is a father, comedian, comedy show producer, writer and musician. He is an anomaly among his pears focusing on balancing the most important parts of his life. To Ward, balance is the meaning of life. “As a lover of comedy I work hard to balance not only being a great comedy producer, but a strong comedian as well. I want to be great on both sides of the mic.” Ward says. Others marvel at the amount of projects Ward is involved in.

Ward appeared on Doug Stanhope’s CD “From Across the Street”. By appeared we mean he introduced Doug on the CD and then walked to the back and sat down. He also has shared the stage with comedians Shane Mauss, Nikki Glaser, Myq Kaplan and Kyle Kinane. He has performed at Zanies in Nashville and the Improv in Atlanta. He has also appeared at the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, Laugh Your Asheville Off and the Memphis Comedy Festival. Matt was also retweeted once by Jose Canseco. Ward has a CD under his belt releasing his debut ‘Glamorous‘ independently in the Fall of 2011.

CHAD RIDEN’s comedy is about his chaotic reality. His last few years have featured bankruptcy, divorce, foreclosure and the best shows of his life. Riden tells self-incriminating stories of being a “recidivist vigilante instrument of karma” that embarrass his daughter and make everybody else shake their heads and laugh and/or contact the authorities.

ANDY BOYLE, a Chicago-area stand-up comedian, writer and web developer, has been delighting audiences across America with his jokes and giggly life stories for years. In 2013, Andy took his stand-up on the road throughout seven states, including a stop at Minnesota’s 10,000 Laughs Festival. In 2014 he was a runner-up in the Chicago satellite round of the Great American Comedy Festival and was selected for the 2014 Orlando Indie Comedy Festival. Andy’s writing has appeared in The St. Petersburg Times, The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune and other outlets that inspired Atari’s hit 1984 arcade game “Paperboy.” And once Andy made a website where he got drunk and raised almost $3,400 for a pet charity at drunkforpets.com.
