Comedy Classes for Teens and Adults Taught By Rik Roberts

A lot of people say you can’t teach funny.. but you can teach writing and you can give wanna-be comics some experience to help them hit the stage running. Comedian Rik Roberts is teaching a series of classes at Bongo Java for adults and an intro to comedy series this summer at the Nashville Public Library downtown for teens only.
Rik says, “I’m starting to get some real good folks who are in it for the long haul. The camaraderie these students have really helps them find some comedy buddies for support until they get over the hump.”
To sign up for classes, contact Rik Roberts at 1.888.895.8549 or email him at rik [at] rikroberts.com. Read on for details about each series of classes..

Mary Mack’s new cd & website

marymack-eitheryouwakeuporyoudont.png
Folk humorist Mary Mack spends half her time convincing her Minnesotan mother it is okay to be a comedian and the other half driving to gigs. Mary’s endearing stage presence and off kilter comedy, combined with mandolin sing-a-longs comes together to form a one of a kind show unlike any other. Mary’s unique style draws from her varied and equally unique background ranging from schoolteacher to polka band leader (with whom she performed right here in Nashville for quite a while). Want to experience the magic for yourself? Check out Mary’s new website and order her new cd, “Either You Wake Up Or You Don’t”. OR, enter to win an autographed copy for free from N’Sup. Either you win one or you don’t.

Sue Fabisch’s “Wal-Mart Woman” in CMT “Music City Madness” Round 2

Round Two of the CMT “Music City Madness” Contest ends March 5th at Midnight EST. Nashville’s own Sue Fabisch has a song in the running and she NEEDS YOUR VOTE!
Go now and vote for Sue Fabisch’s “Wal-Mart Woman”:

Whether it’s 25 people or a group of 5000, Top 10 Billboard Artist Sue Fabisch (pronounced Fay-bish) has made them laugh (and cry!). Her hit parody, “The MOM of Constant Sorrow”, catapulted her onto the mainstream airwaves of country music when it found it’s way to over 200 radio stations and the video network Great American Country. The song seemed to strike a chord out in the real world, where all of Sue’s songs are real-life scenarios for over-worked and underpaid parents.
