Chad Riden & friends at Zanies – March 16, 2014

Chad Riden & Friends: NashvilleStandUp Showcase at Zanies - March 16, 2014

The Back Out Of Retirement Again, For The Very
Last Time Forever (Or Until I Run Out Of Money Or Get Bored Or Someone Offers Me Another Date) Farewell Comedy Show of Chad Riden & friends

Chad Riden’s comedy is about his chaotic reality. A full time road comic since 2006, Riden’s last few years have featured bankruptcy, divorce, foreclosure and the best shows of his life. Chad has appeared on “The Daily Show on Comedy Central“, the Late Show with David Letterman’s “Tony Mendez Show”, ABC’s “Nashville,” and is featured on CMT-Canada’s upcoming “Mississippi Snake Grabbers.” Biding time until his “snake money starts rolling in” when he is “super duper MF’ing Canada Famous” – Riden continues to tour the nation using his smart-ass super powers for good, not evil.

“Chad Riden – good guy. Been through a lot. His heart’s heavy. World’s weighing on Chad. Weighs heavy on Chad. He’s got a burden.. but he’s a funny guy. It makes him a funny guy. That burden makes him funny.” – Marc Maron, WTF episode 209 (September, 2011) & in Marc’s book “Attempting Normal.”

Over the course of a weekend in February 2011, Doug Stanhope called Chad Riden “wicked funny” once, “fucking brilliant” twice, and “stupid” only one time.

“His observations on the domestic sphere teeter amiably on the edge.” – The Nashville Scene

The Heroes of Hilarity: Viet Huynh & Mia Jackson @ SPiFFY SQUiRREL Comedy Show (The East Room) 3/9/2014

The Heroes of Hilarity: Viet Huynh & Mia Jackson at SPiFFY SQUiRREL Comedy Show at The East Room 3/9/2014

The Heroes of Hillarity show will be taking up donations to go the Brian E. Kiley Memorial Fund. Brian E. Kiley (one of the founders of the show) was a great Nashville-based comedian who passed away on February 17th, 2013 in a car accident. All proceeds will go to his family.

Viet Huynh (pronounced like “hwin”) was born and raised in Goose Creek, SC and began his stand-up comedy career in Atlanta, GA. Moving forward, Viet has used that initial positive buzz to quickly become a favorite at many comedy clubs and venues across the nation.

Viet Huynh has put together shows such The Affirmative Action Comedy Showcase, The Heroes of Hilarity, and An Intimate Evening of Comedy and Rap Music. Viet balances his structural engineering career with a rigorous schedule of multiple performances each week at various comedy clubs and venues. By doing so he has created a new profession by the name of “Comedic Engineering”; the design and delivery of jokes and punchlines. Viet has shared the stage with many well known comedians and has won a few comedy competitions along the way.

Viet derives a lot of his humor from his life of being an Asian-American growing up in the South, observational and nerd humor, and relationship issues.

Viet Huynh can be found online at ComedianViet.com, Twitter.com/ComedianViet, Facebook.com/vhuynh625.

Mia Jackson, a native of Columbus, Georgia and a self proclaimed know it all, wondered what would happen if she took her sense of humor to the stage. That’s exactly what she did! After graduating from the University of Georgia she hit the local comedy scene and has thrilled audiences since day one.

To her credit she has appeared on Oxygen’s Girls Behaving Badly and TLC’s Wild Weddings. She was also a writer on BET/Centric’s re-launch of the Soul Train Awards in 2009 and 2010. In 2012, Mia was a finalist in the Laughing Skull Festival. She recently taped a spot on NickMom’s Night Out and opened for Dave Chapelle.

Mia is a diverse comedienne with a different voice and perspective. Her energetic conversational style leaves the audience feeling refreshed and as if they have known her forever. Smart, funny, and versatile, Mia entertains all types of crowds.

Monty Mitchell @ SPiFFY SQUiRREL Comedy Show (The East Room) 3/2/2014

Monty Mitchell at SPiFFY SQUiRREL Comedy Show at The East Room 3/2/2014

When Monty Mitchell takes those long lanky steps toward the stage, you soon discover that story-teller is very different. He takes your audience through a varied routine pushing them toward disbelief, shock, and appreciation for his comedic talents….all the while they are laughing hysterically at his stories. Monty can take stories ranging from a funeral visit, to a fast food drive-through experience, to a police officer’s traffic stop and make them stories you will never ever forget. By the time you get to the end of his show, you’ve heard (maybe more than you planned to) about his marriage, his son, his cat, and his latest trip to the low-rent strip bar.

Monty has been held hostage in the corporate world for years, and the comedy stage has been calling for him to perform. So perform he has across the nation, in bars, colleges, and on-stage. Monty’s unabashed enthusiasm and comedic style turns any event (and open-minded crowd) into a great night of comedy.
