Comedian / pancake juggler / contortionist Scot Nery called Nashville home 1998-1999 & 2001-2002. While here, Scot hosted the Tuesday night open mic at Bar Car for a while and toured with Brooks & Dunn’s “Neon Circus.” He has since moved to San Francisco and now lives in Los Angeles. He once did a trick on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and has appeared on various other tv projects.. memorably in the DIY Network’s Nailed at Nine hammer juggling promo and as “Mama” in Scary Movie 5. In case you’ve never seen his stage show or street performances, they’re pretty spectacular. NOBODY else does what Scot does. Here’s a video he uploaded yesterday:
Mr. Nery is back in town this week for a FREE show Saturday at Centennial Park: the New Belgium Tour de Fat – A Ballyhoo of Bikes and Beer. The whole things runs from 11am to 5pm, but Scot’s show starts at noon. Don’t miss it. Here’s the Facebook event.
