The NashvilleStandUp Showcase at Zanies Nashville 9/4/2014

The NashvilleStandUp.com Showcase at Zanies Nashville Sept. 4, 2014

Chad Riden with Andy Boyle (Chicago), Rob Haynes, Mark Anundson, Meredith Fitzsimons, Gary Fletcher, Josh Inocalla & Ben Sawyer. $10 at the door or $5 now at this special link: http://torch.ly/dMjibgpdDz

CHAD RIDEN’s comedy is about his chaotic reality. His last few years have featured bankruptcy, divorce, foreclosure and the best shows of his life. Riden tells self-incriminating stories of being a “recidivist vigilante instrument of karma” that embarrass his daughter and make everybody else shake their heads and laugh and/or contact the authorities.

ANDY BOYLE, a Chicago-area stand-up comedian, writer and web developer, has been delighting audiences across America with his jokes and giggly life stories for years. In 2013, Andy took his stand-up on the road throughout seven states, including a stop at Minnesota’s 10,000 Laughs Festival. In 2014 he was a runner-up in the Chicago satellite round of the Great American Comedy Festival and was selected for the 2014 Orlando Indie Comedy Festival. Andy’s writing has appeared in The St. Petersburg Times, The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune and other outlets that inspired Atari’s hit 1984 arcade game “Paperboy.” And once Andy made a website where he got drunk and raised almost $3,400 for a pet charity at drunkforpets.com. Andy’s mom says you won’t regret following him on Twitter at @andymboyle.

The Great Eastern: Storytelling in the Heart of East Nashville – 1st Wed of every month

The Great Eastern - 1st wed of every month at Cult Fiction Underground

The Great Eastern is a show held on the first Wednesday of the month that aims to bring Nashville’s people and places into dialogue through the art of storytelling. Those in attendance will hear the stories of four or five booked story tellers and will have the opportunity to put their name in a hat for the chance of telling their own story of 5 minutes or less.

Our first show will be an open format, but subsequent shows will have themes that we hope can focus the diversity of our experiences into a greater narrative. The Great Eastern welcomes stories of all moods- humorous or heart-wrenching, triumphant or tragic. We ask only that your story be true, thoughtful and performed without a script. We hope to see you there.
