Billy Wayne Davis joins “Dirt Poor Comedy Tour” lineup

Nashville’s own Billy Wayne Davis has been tapped to join the Dirt Poor Comedy Tour line-up. Open auditions were held at comedy clubs across the country, and producers selected B.W. along with Dustin Chafin, Ricky Peardon, Big Kenny, Etta May and J. Scott Homan to perform at a show to be taped for television on March 20th & 21st in Knoxville, TN, at the Bijou Theater. If you’d like to see Billy Wayne perform right here in Nashville, he’s the middle act for Ralphie May at the Ryman on March 2nd @ 8 p.m.

The Jackasses Of Comedy in Jackson, TN

Last night the Jackasses of Comedy spread their sweet, sweet jackassery all over South Street comedy club in Jackson, Tennessee.

This weekend’s shows feature Rob Haynes, Chad Riden, Jesse Perry and Billy Wayne Davis.. and if you’re there tonight you just might bump into Corey Reppond and Monty.

Last night, Jesus made a special guest appearance.. before you get too excited about that, you should know that he was drunk and beligerent and got thrown out of the club. At some point Jesse Perry said, “Jesus, shut the fuck up. I never thought I’d say that..” We’ll put video clips up soon-ish. There’s still tickets available for the 9:30 show tonight.. hope to see you there.

#13 – 2005.11.26

Jesse Perry, Billy Wayne Davis, Chad Riden, Rob Haynes and Chris Loyd play standup clips from Craig Smith, Pat Dixon, Reno Collier and Doug Stanhope. Jesse Perry’s Mother called in to warn everybody about turkey poisioning.. and Pat Dixon called in talking about his appearance on the Late Late Show and other funny stuff. Turns out, the Stanhope clip was only partially edited and one of the radio station’s owners called in to complain about the language. Of course, we took the call live on the air and backtracked as fast and as cowardly as possible. Also, Jesse and Rob competed for the title of Iron Comic; Col. Parker phoned in; we talked about what we were thankful for; we tried to retire a bit about how white and black people are different; and lives were changed. However, some idiot forgot to start recording the show on time, so the first part is missing.. so it’s only a partial REVOLUTION!! this week. Still, enjoy.

Comedians Chad Riden, Jesse Perry and B.W. Davis live in the studio playing standup from live shows and comics’ cd’s. B.W. talked about touring with Ralphie May, Joe Southards got on the mic for a bit, Chris Loyd was binge drinking in the studio and causing problems, and Chris’ Enabler, Rob “Hotsauce” Haynes and Corey Reppond were all in the audience.

Phone-ins were attempted from road comics Tim Northern, Keith Alberstadt, and Pat Dixon.. and an interview with NashvilleStandUp founder A. J. Sullivan were all aborted due to phone problems.
