The NashvilleStandUp.com Showcase @ Zanies Comedy Showplace – a showcase of the funniest comedians based in the Nashville area, plus guest sets from traveling comics, and Chad Riden’s IRON COMIC comedy competition with jokes written on the spot based on audience suggestions. The show is hosted and produced by NashvilleStandUp.com’s Chad Riden. The December 7th show lineup includes: Atlanta’s Carlos Valencia; Florida’s Valarie Storm; Oklahoma’s Rob Neville; St. Louis’ Josh Arnold; PLUS Nashville’s Gary Fletcher, Doug Arnold, Brian Swinford, Johnny Beehner, Emily Fleming, “Happy Birthday Gary“‘s Sean Parrott & Brad Edwards, Rob “Hotsauce” Haynes, Dan Whitehurst, and Wix Wichmann will be headlining the event.

Nashville comics to compete in Laughing Skull Festival

Now in it’s second year, the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival has announced the comedians who have been selected as participants, including several names familiar to Nashville comedy fans.

The brainchild of Atlanta’s Marshall Chiles and ComedySoapBox.com‘s Steve Hofstetter, the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival features a 25-city, two-day first round, followed by a five-day event in Atlanta. Comedy industry from all over the US and Canada will participate to help find, expose, and give work to some of today’s top emerging comedians.

Traveling to the Stardome comedy club in Birmingham (November 16th – 7:30 PM) will be: Chris Killian, Donna Carter, Brian E. Kiley and Chad Riden.

Among those competing at Sidesplitters in Tampa (November 17th – 8:00 PM) will be former Nashvillian Kendra Corrie.

The comics making the trip to the Comedy Catch in Chattanooga (November 17th – 8:00 PM) include Nashville’s Paul Curtis.

The N’Sup Showcase @ Zanies – 10/19/2010

In addition to the comics’ planned stand-up sets, the show will also feature Chad Riden’s IRON COMIC comedy competition with jokes written on the spot based on audience suggestions. Originating on the Nashville radio airwaves and ComedyPodcast.com in September of 2005, IRON COMIC has been performed live at various venues for years.. but finally comes to Zanies as part of the NashvilleStandUp.com Showcase. In addition to the professional comics, anyone can participate in IRON COMIC by submitting jokes using Twitter and Facebook. Riden will highlight the funniest on stage and online during the show.

The show is hosted and produced by NashvilleStandUp.com’s Chad Riden. The October 19th show lineup includes: Cincinnati’s Gabe Kea and Butch Wesley; Memphis’ Mo Alexander, Jane Haze and Andy Fleming; and Nashville’s Doug Arnold, James Austin Johnson, Gary Fletcher, Sean Parrott and Brad Edwards. Nashville favorite Mark Anundson will be headlining the event with his hilarious stand-up and musical improvisation.

Formerly the host of “Get Up, Stand Up” on WRVU-FM, Mark Anundson is currently a regular on Comedy Podcast.com‘s “Happy Birthday Gary” podcast, is the frontman for robot-themed novelty music act “BIZRQ,” and is the man behind the “Happy For Apathy” podcast.

The NashvilleStandUp.com Showcase @ Zanies is a showcase of the funniest professional comedians based in the Nashville area, plus guest sets from traveling comics, and a few up-and-coming young comics from the local Nashville scene. Several “bucket” spots will be available to any comics in the audience who want to throw their names in the hat.. and those comedians will be in the running for a booked spot in the future.
