Brad Edwards

It is an insult to Brad Edwards to even try to describe him. The essence of Brads comedy chops can not be crammed into anything as small and dull as written words. Its like looking at a photo of an atom bomb and acting like you got hit by an atom bomb NO A GAMMA BOMB like the Hulk. Ok I was wrong you can explain Brad. Brad is like the Hulk: dang funny.

Sean Parrott

“I’m a weird guy but I come by it honestly, because my Mom is a weird guy too.” Since 2006, Sean Parrott has been bringing his charismatic stage presence and a unique point of view to comedy clubs and bars all over the Southeast. Brought up on Bugs Bunny and Monty Python, Sean is an observational absurdist with a keen eye for finding the humor in everyday life; our language, our friends and our jobs (What is the DEAL with those?) He has acted in award winning animated films (“Pound Dogs” has aired on the Independent Film Channel), appeared at the Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival, and was picked as one of Nashville’s Funniest Comics by Reader’s Digest. Energy, intelligence, and wry wit make Sean Parrott one of the best young comics working today.

Parrott is also a fantastic musician. His most recent album, “THE DTH OVE LOF” spawned a video for his single, “Summertime (Featuring Swagnum P.I.)” which is one of the greatest things on the internet.

5/12 Zanies Fundraising Event for World Record Attempt Show

A Fundraising Event Benefiting NashvilleStandup.com attempt to break the Guinness World Record on april 12-19, 2015 for the LONGEST STAND-UP COMEDY SHOW – MULTIPLE COMEDIANS

Beginning April 12th, NashvilleStandUp.com will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for “LONGEST STAND-UP COMEDY SHOW – MULTIPLE COMEDIANS” at The East Room in a non-stop stand-up comedy marathon to draw attention to Nashville-based comedians and to put Nashville into the record books of comedy history.

Nashville comedians will not only break the current 3.3 day / 80 hour record, it will continue through the entire duration of the Wild West Comedy Festival, and conclude on April 19th. The non-stop 192 hour schedule will feature showcases, feature-length and headliner-length sets and surprise drop-ins from comedians of various levels of fame and fortune AND infamy and misfortune. NashvilleStandUp.com has launched an IndieGoGo crowd-funding campaign to help pay for the cost of the event, including the Guinness World Records’ fees.

This benefit showcase at Zanies is a fundraiser to help supplement the costs of this historic undertaking and features show organizers DJ Buckley & Brett Cantrell and will be headlined by NashvilleStandUp.com’s Chad Riden. All proceeds go to cover the costs of the Guinness World Record attempt.

Guinness World Record attempt update #3

Guinness World Records' "Longest Stand-up Comedy Show - Multiple Comedians" record breaking show April 12-19, 2015 at The East Room

We have a few big updates about NashvilleStandUp’s attempt to break the Guinness World Records’ for “LONGEST STAND-UP COMEDY SHOW – MULTIPLE COMEDIANS” during the Wild West Comedy Festival, beginning April 12th.

First, so far we have raised over $3,500! That is wonderful and unbelievable and just fantastic. THANK YOU. There are 14 days left on our IndieGoGo campaign. Please help us spread the word by sharing our crowd-funding page with your friends:

This is great: Our good friends at Zanies have been kind enough to set up a benefit showcase fundraiser to help supplement the costs of this historic undertaking. The sucka-free lineup features Chad Riden, Michael Hampton, Mary Jay Berger, Gary Fletcher, Brett Cantrell, Jordan Jensen, Josh Wagner, Josh Lewis and DJ Buckley. ALL proceeds go to cover the costs of the Guinness World Record attempt! Get tickets now!

Also, Guinness has given us their blessing and approval for this world record attempt! With that notice came a LOT of rules we were not previously aware of. There are three that relate directly to the comics in the lineup of the world record attempt show:

“Each performance by each individual comedian must last for at least fifteen minutes.”

“Each comedians may perform for longer if they wish, but they may not return to the stage for four hours after they finish their set.”

“All performers must be of a proficient standard. We define this as the comedians having at least 20 professional (paid) credits in a comedy club, theatre or bar and at least one year’s experience since their first paid gig. Evidence to prove this must be presented to the independent witnesses prior to the event and the witnesses must attest to this in their written statements.”

Previously we had offered 5 and 10 minute spots as IndieGoGo perks for $25 and $50 respectively. We have now removed those options.

Donors who DO NOT qualify will be able to (A) get a full refund; or (B) choose another perk at the same price break (t-shirt or hatch show print).

Donors who DO qualify who have already donated $50 for a 10 minute spot perk have automatically been upgraded to a new 15-minute spot perk for free.

Donors who DO qualify who have already donated $25 for a 5 minute spot perk have three options: (A) full refund; or (B) choose another perk at the same price break (t-shirt or hatch show print); or (C) donate an additional $25 and upgrade to the 15-minute spot perk.

We will be contacting each affected donor individually to make sure this is handled the way they would prefer. Thank you so much for all of your support! We really appreciate it.
