N’Sup Showcase @ Zanies 1/25/2011

The NashvilleStandUp.com Showcase @ Zanies Comedy Showplace – a showcase of the funniest comedians based in the Nashville area, plus guest sets from traveling comics, and Chad Riden’s IRON COMIC comedy competition with jokes written on the spot based on audience suggestions. The January 25th show lineup includes: Nashville’s Brad Hinderliter, John Thornton Jr and Sean Parrott; Knoxville’s J. LaLonde; plus from Atlanta, Joe Pettis and Nick Trammell. Nashville’s Jonnie W will be headlining the event.

The November 23rd show lineup includes: Atlanta’s Andy Sandford, Cris Gray, and Mia Jackson; Kentucky’s Dave Webster, Josh Branham, and Nathan Wallace; PLUS Nashville’s Brian Bates, Sean Parrott, Ashley Brooke, Donnie Pollard, Johnny Q. Amish, and “Happy Birthday Gary“‘s Brad Edwards will be headlining the event.

The N’Sup Showcase @ Zanies – 10/19/2010

The NashvilleStandUp.com Showcase @ Zanies Comedy Showplace – a showcase of the funniest comedians based in the Nashville area, plus guest sets from traveling comics, and Chad Riden’s IRON COMIC comedy competition with jokes written on the spot based on audience suggestions.

In addition to the comics’ planned stand-up sets, the show will also feature Chad Riden’s IRON COMIC comedy competition with jokes written on the spot based on audience suggestions. Originating on the Nashville radio airwaves and ComedyPodcast.com in September of 2005, IRON COMIC has been performed live at various venues for years.. but finally comes to Zanies as part of the NashvilleStandUp.com Showcase. In addition to the professional comics, anyone can participate in IRON COMIC by submitting jokes using Twitter and Facebook. Riden will highlight the funniest on stage and online during the show.

The show is hosted and produced by NashvilleStandUp.com’s Chad Riden. The October 19th show lineup includes: Cincinnati’s Gabe Kea and Butch Wesley; Memphis’ Mo Alexander, Jane Haze and Andy Fleming; and Nashville’s Doug Arnold, James Austin Johnson, Gary Fletcher, Sean Parrott and Brad Edwards. Nashville favorite Mark Anundson will be headlining the event with his hilarious stand-up and musical improvisation.

Formerly the host of “Get Up, Stand Up” on WRVU-FM, Mark Anundson is currently a regular on Comedy Podcast.com‘s “Happy Birthday Gary” podcast, is the frontman for robot-themed novelty music act “BIZRQ,” and is the man behind the “Happy For Apathy” podcast.

IRON COMIC returns! (Music City Bar & Grill, 4/16)

7 Funny comics x 10 min. each plus comedy competition with jokes written on the spot based on audience suggestions. Hosted by America’s Favorite Comedian Of All Time, Chad Riden.

If you remember the old Sunday Stand-Up Showcase Showdown And Stuff shows we used to do at Improv Nashville.. or if you remember the old radio show we did on XRADIO.. or if you remember the old NashvilleStandUp Podcast we did on ComedyPodcast.com.. you MIGHT remember IRON COMIC – we get a suggestion from the audience and comics make up jokes on the spot about that thing. It’s fun.

Friday (tomorrow!) 4/16, we start an all new IRON COMIC show at Music City Bar & Grill (across from OPRYLAND HOTEL) where we’ll have 7 comics doing their bestest 10 minutes, then at the end of the last set, comics come up and do the jokes they wrote about that subject one at a time, round robin style until we run out of jokes or time. Audience chooses a winner.

If you’re a comic and you’re not booked to be in the line-up, come on out – you can still do the IRON COMIC part of the show AND we’ll draw one of your names out of a hat to do a 5 minute guest spot.

If you’re a comedy fan – there is NO COVER CHARGE! Food from the kitchen and the full bar will be rockin’ all night.. so don’t miss it.

Joe Southards and Josh Phillips close out a fun run of shows at the Improv Nashville Comedy Theater, which is closing their 12th Avenue South location. “America’s Favorite Comedian Of All Time,” Chad Riden, hosts a showcase of touring, professional stand-up comedians plus random guest sets from Nashville-based comics and surprise, impromptu sets potentially available for anybody who brings fresh Funny with ’em. They also do an “IRON COMIC” competition where two comics write as many jokes as they can in an hour about a random topic suggested by the audience. Very funny.

The show starts at exactly 6pm and ends at 7:30pm – so if you have stuff to do Monday morning, this shouldn’t interfere at all!
