The New York Comedy Festival‘s “Funniest Stand-Up contest” has a Nashville entrant.
Sean L. McCarthy (“the comic’s comic“) reports that Nashville’s own Nate Bargatze is one of the first five comedians advancing to the finals of the “2008 New York’s Funniest Stand-Up contest.”
The other comics moving forward from the Oct. 28 show were Esther Ku, Julian McCullough, Stone & Stone, and Reese Waters. They’ll be joined by five others from the Oct. 29 semifinal competition at Stand-Up NY. The final competition will be Nov. 5 at Carolines.
Congratulations to Nate!
