Happy Holidays from NashvilleStandUp!
Keith Alberstadt’s Knee, Computer Explodes

I’d like to say that Nashville-native comedian Keith Alberstadt is doing just fine in New York City, but that’d be a lie. Keith was playing basketball a couple weeks ago and his knee exploded on him. I think the shrapnel killed a teammate.. it was pretty gory. It’s OK now.. he’s had surgery and I believe they reconstructed it with some spare parts they had laying around. He’s all hopped up on drugs and recovering nicely. Read the details and see the photos up on his MySpace blog: http://www.myspace.com/keithcomedy
As if that wasn’t enough, Keith has also had computer trouble.. I’ll let him tell you all about it:
Fans of Nashville Stand Up…
I have horrible news. My website mailing list has been stolen by Dane Cook.
Okay, not really, but I wouldn’t put it past him. The truth is, my address book was deleted when my hard drive died.
I of course love Nashville. Zanies is where I started and I want to keep everyone posted on my shows there. So even if you think I have your info, please sign up again by visiting www.keithcomedy.com/mailinglist.asp
Without the support of Nashville comedy fans, I got nothing. Not even my health (read about my massive knee injury at www.keithcomedy.com/columns/hoopnightmares.asp )
Thanks, everyone! Feel free to forward this message along to others. The person out there who collects the most email addresses for me will get a free used crutch…I’ll even Febreeze the top part, maybe.
Keith
Way to go, Keith. Way to go.
Performance Classes from Rik Roberts

A lot of people say you can’t teach funny.. but you can teach writing and you can give wanna-be comics some experience to help them hit the stage running. Beginner comics can improve their acts by learning performance techniques and intermediate level comics can gain an advantage with business of comedy tips from more experienced professional comics. Comedian Rik Roberts is teaching a series of classes at Zanies this fall that helps fill these needs.
Rik says, “I’m starting to get some real good folks who are in it for the long haul. The camaraderie these students have really helps them find some comedy buddies for support until they get over the hump.”
