Last Comic Standing’s Nashville episode airs June 12th

Nashville comedy fans are on the edges of their couches waiting in anticipation.. do you feel the excitement in the air? Do you!? That electric, hypnotizing buzz isn’t leftover from last week’s CMT Fan Fare festivities.. and it’s got nothing to do with the iPhone 3G.. the big news is: Thursday night at 7:30pm Central, NBC will air the new episode of “Last Comic Standing” featuring the Nashville auditions shot at Zanies on March 3rd.

I’ll give you a second to go launder the pants you just soiled in excitement.
Yes, LCS will once again reduce Nashville’s comedy scene (and stand-up comedy in general) to a montage of shirtless redneck caricatures, Sassy Southern Grannies Who Tell It Like It Is, and other clueless goofballs in costumes who’ve never performed comedy but want to “git own tha tee-veee.” Mixed in there somewhere (hopefully) will be some of the professional and up-and-coming comics from the region who auditioned that day. Who knows.
We do know that at the end of that night’s call-back show, Dale Jones (from Nashville!) , Mary Mack (used to live in Nashville!), Taylor Mason, Heath Hyche, and Erin Jackson got red envelopes / invitations to move on to the next level in Las Vegas. You know what they say, “What happens in Vegas.. can’t be talked about without violating many non-disclosure agreements.”
Our pal Mary Mack has said, “If you care about good comedy, or even just bettering society in any way whatsoever, I’m really sorry if you’ve kindly watched the Last Comic Standing on my behalf, and I haven’t been on yet! I’ll just say I am involved with the Minneapolis, Nashville, and Vegas episodes, but they don’t tell ya when they error–Whoops, I mean air. My special friend’s mother, Adrianne, went on an “intranet site,” and she told me that the Last Comic Standing episodes filmed in Minneapolis and Nashville will be shown June 12th. I don’t know if this is true, but Adrianne’s cat drinks from the faucet, so there’s good chance that it is correct.”
Tune in to NBC Thursday night June 12th at 7:30pm Central and see how many friends of N’Sup you can see!

“Last Comic Standing” is produced by Peter Engel Productions and Universal Media Studios. The executive producers are Peter Engel (“Saved By the Bell,” “The Next Best Thing”), David Friedman (NBC’s “Last Call with Carson Daly) and Barry Katz (“Action,” “Dane Cook’s Tourgasm”). Javier Winnik (NBC’s “The Singing Bee”) and Noel Guerra (Bravo’s “Project Runway”) are co-executive producers.
