Bubba Bradley @ SPiFFY SQUiRREL Comedy Show (The East Room) 4/6/2014

Bubba Bradley at SPiFFY SQUiRREL Comedy Show at The East Room 4/6/2014

Growing up in a nomadic single parent family, Bubba Bradley used comedy as a way of dealing with all the instability. Fame came early to Bubba when he was voted class clown in his senior year; a title he holds in high honor even today.

Drawing on material from childhood rife with family dysfunction, a very outspoken, out-of-the-closet brother to jobs running the gamut from powder metal factory worker to Yellowstone security guard to small-town Montana bar bouncer, allows Bubba Bradley the opportunity to weave a highly entertaining, universally funny, down-to-earth story-telling style of comedy that you won’t soon forget.

CAM O’CONNOR:

Charismatic, relatable and honest to a fault, Cam O’Connor is one of the hardest working young comedians in the Midwest. In a relatively short period of time, he has opened for Kyle Kinane, Stewart Huff and Doug Stanhope, and was the touring opener for Ryan Singer and Jarrod Harris on their “Organic Comedy Tour.” The twelve-state “Organic” tour, which celebrated underground comedy scenes across the country, was filmed for a documentary that is scheduled to be released in 2014. Cam was recently a finalist in both the 2012 Funniest Person in Cincinnati competition and the Bob & Tom All-Star Contest. A native of Indianapolis, IN, Cam is the creator of Rocketship Comedy, a series of stand-up showcases that are quickly becoming a preferred destination for many of the most respected names in comedy.

DISCLAIMER: Cam O’Connor is NOT one of the most respected names in comedy.

DWIGHT SIMMONS:

Quick to quote Nietzsche and T-Pain in the same breath, Dwight Simmons is a true wildcard. He touches on everything including, but not limited to, social commentary, relationships, sex, children, politics and of course racial issues. Having grown up in two completely different environments, one predominantly rich, one predominantly poor, Dwight offers an interesting and fresh perspective that represents both sides of the spectrum. The Pink Collar Comedy Tour @ SPiFFY SQUiRREL Comedy Show (The East Room) 3/16/2014

The Pink Collar Comedy Tour at the SPiFFY SQUiRREL comedy show 3/16/2014 7:30pm

The Pink Collar Comedy Tour, featuring New York-based comedians Erin Judge, Abbi Crutchfield, Carrie Gravenson, and Kaytlin Bailey, will bring cutting-edge, hilarious stand-up comedy to Nashville in March 2014. “Pink collar” is a term designating a type of worker just like blue collar or white collar, only it refers to work said to be stereotypical women’s work and is typically in the service industry although these comedians are anything but typical!

The Pink Collar Comedy Tour premiered in South Carolina in 2012 and has since played to packed houses in more than 25 cities, including Austin, New Orleans, Philadelphia, San Francsico, Raleigh, and more. The Boston Globe said it best: The Pink Collar Comedy Tour is “smart comedy by female comics.”

Kaytlin Bailey is the founder of the Pink Collar Comedy Tour and performs regularly at the famous Vagabond Cafe in the West Village of Manhattan. Her nothing-to-lose honesty and brazen comedic style are sure to make you laugh, or avoid eye contact with your significant other…and mom. She is originally from Raleigh, NC and a College of Charleston alum.

Abbi Crutchfield is a comedian, writer and actor from Indianapolis, IN listed as one of the 18 Funny Women You Should Be Following on Twitter by Huffington Post Comedy. She produces the live comedy hour The Living Room Show in New York City. She has been featured on VH1 and MTV as well as in national commercials.

Carrie Gravenson, a native New Yorker, won the 2009 New York Underground Comedy Festival’s Emerging Talent Stand-Up Competition and was a runner up in 2009′s Catch a Rising Star Stand-Up Competition. She was a semi-finalist in the Ventura Comedy competition and the She Devil comedy contest in 2012. She also co-produces “The Tomfoolery Hour,” a popular monthly comedy showcase in New York City.

Erin Judge has appeared on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham” and at comedy clubs and festivals all around the world. This Brooklyn native recently released her first stand-up album, So Many Choices by Rooftop Comedy Productions to rave reviews. When she is not touring she produces the popular comedy hour The Afterlife at New York City’s historic Sidewalk Cafe.

The Heroes of Hilarity: Viet Huynh & Mia Jackson @ SPiFFY SQUiRREL Comedy Show (The East Room) 3/9/2014

The Heroes of Hilarity: Viet Huynh & Mia Jackson at SPiFFY SQUiRREL Comedy Show at The East Room 3/9/2014

The Heroes of Hillarity show will be taking up donations to go the Brian E. Kiley Memorial Fund. Brian E. Kiley (one of the founders of the show) was a great Nashville-based comedian who passed away on February 17th, 2013 in a car accident. All proceeds will go to his family.

Viet Huynh (pronounced like “hwin”) was born and raised in Goose Creek, SC and began his stand-up comedy career in Atlanta, GA. Moving forward, Viet has used that initial positive buzz to quickly become a favorite at many comedy clubs and venues across the nation.

Viet Huynh has put together shows such The Affirmative Action Comedy Showcase, The Heroes of Hilarity, and An Intimate Evening of Comedy and Rap Music. Viet balances his structural engineering career with a rigorous schedule of multiple performances each week at various comedy clubs and venues. By doing so he has created a new profession by the name of “Comedic Engineering”; the design and delivery of jokes and punchlines. Viet has shared the stage with many well known comedians and has won a few comedy competitions along the way.

Viet derives a lot of his humor from his life of being an Asian-American growing up in the South, observational and nerd humor, and relationship issues.

Viet Huynh can be found online at ComedianViet.com, Twitter.com/ComedianViet, Facebook.com/vhuynh625.

Here’s video of Viet’s standup:

Mia Jackson, a native of Columbus, Georgia and a self proclaimed know it all, wondered what would happen if she took her sense of humor to the stage. That’s exactly what she did! After graduating from the University of Georgia she hit the local comedy scene and has thrilled audiences since day one.

To her credit she has appeared on Oxygen’s Girls Behaving Badly and TLC’s Wild Weddings. She was also a writer on BET/Centric’s re-launch of the Soul Train Awards in 2009 and 2010. In 2012, Mia was a finalist in the Laughing Skull Festival. She recently taped a spot on NickMom’s Night Out and opened for Dave Chapelle.

Mia is a diverse comedienne with a different voice and perspective. Her energetic conversational style leaves the audience feeling refreshed and as if they have known her forever. Smart, funny, and versatile, Mia entertains all types of crowds.

Mia Jackson can be found online at MiaJackson.com, Twitter.com/miacomedy, Facebook.com/miajackson1.
